Bonnie's Bootcamp Workout To Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research
This event was created in memory of my mom, Marlene Kittredge, who passed away in November 2008, at the age of 66, after a 5-year battle with ovarian cancer. I was devastated to lose my mom. I had a 3-year old and newborn twins, and there was just so much I wanted to share with her. I turned my sadness and grief into something positive by creating this bootcamp workout event in her memory.
100% of the money raised went directly into the hands of Dr. Franco Muggia, the doctor who treated my mom at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Muggia gave her the best possible care and treatment options that were available, and she lived to see the birth of my twins. For this, I am forever grateful to him, and am happy to raise money for his continued research of this disease.
In 5 years of The Bonnie's Bootcamp Memorial Workout, over $130,000 was raised for ovarian cancer research.
In June 2013, I had the amazing honor to dedicate Dr. Muggia's office at NYU in memory of my mom. It was such a bittersweet day for my family and me, but a very special one I will remember forever.
