Recap:
The 2nd Annual Bonnie's Bootcamp Workout to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research in memory of my mom, Marlene Kittredge, was a huge success, raising over $25,000 for Dr. Franco Muggia's Research Fund at NYU Langone Medical Center. Each year, I am more hopeful that there will be better earlier detection of this disease and more effective targeted chemotherapy treatments, so no one else should have to lose their mother at the young age of 66 like i did. Thanks to everyone who participated either as a bootcamper, vendor, or spectator, and a big thank you to everyone who donated so generously and helped me surpass my goal of $25,000.
It was a beautiful day...over 200 people joined me to show their support...the sun was shining brightly. There was such a great positive vibe in the air. I know my mom was looking down on me and smiling.

Recap:
The 1st Annual Bonnie's Bootcamp Fundraiser to Support Ovarian Cancer Research on October 4, 2009, was a huge success raising over $15k. The event was created in memory of my mother, Marlene Kittredge, who died in November 2008 at the age of 66, after a brave 5-yr battle with ovarian cancer. All of the money raised went directly to my mom's doctor, Dr. Franco Muggia, The Director of Oncology at NYU Langone Medical Center. The fundraiser was created as a therapeutic way for me to say Thank You to Dr. Muggia for keeping my mom alive long enough to see my twins, Lexi and Max, born in June 2008, as well as spend 3 very special years with her 1st grandchild, my daughter, Sydney. My mom and I had a very close relationship, and this fundraiser was created as a positive way for me to channel the overwhelming grief of my loss. October 4 was an AMAZING DAY. Over 100 people came to support ovarian cancer research (and get a great workout!), and the energy in the air was just so positive...I could really feel the love! It was truly everything i had hoped it to be. The rain held off, the sun was peaking thru the clouds, and I know that my mom was looking down on me and smiling. A big thank you to everyone who donated so generously and supported a cause that I am so passionate about. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your outpouring of warmth and kindness, and for making this day so special for me.
